Obituary

 Mr E. J. Brookman, Hirwaun

Interment of Mr Edward (Ted) J. Brookman, 83 High Street, Hirwaun (whose tragic death was announced in our last week’s issue), took place at Aberdare Cemetery on Saturday.

 Impressive services at the house and graveside were conducted by the Rev father McAnniffe, St Teresa R.C. Church.  The large attendance was fitting testimony to the popularity of deceased and of the general regret felt at his sad death.   Sympathisers were representative of many churches and organisations.  Mr. G. B. Barling, M. E. manager and Mr. Evan J. Morgan, overman were among Tower Colliery officials present.   Tower M.F.G.B. Lodge was also strongly represented.

 Numerous messages of sympathy received referred to deceased’s fine personality, friendship and devotedness to his family, the sorrowing wife and daughters being assured of general sympathy in their sad loss of a loving husband and father.
